Home appliances and electronics have been getting much more efficient, radically cutting energy bills in European households. But further savings could be achieved if the European Commission moves forward with the adoption of its new working plan for the Ecodesign Directive and Energy Labelling regulation, which envisages new energy and resource efficiency requirements for more products such as heaters, universal batteries and more.
