This submission welcomes the long-overdue revision of the ecodesign and energy labelling regulations for solid fuel boilers and highlights the urgent need to address their significant impacts on air quality, public health, climate and the environment. With tens of millions of EU households relying on solid fuels for heating, the contribution stresses the importance of stronger product standards and clear consumer information to reduce pollution, limit climate and biodiversity impacts, and ensure more sustainable use of forest resources.
