At the end of June, environmental NGOs from all over Europe launched a social media campaign to push the European institutions to include commercial refrigerators and freezers in the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling package of measures, to be released by the end of 2018.
Such a proposal was last discussed in July 2014, promising annual electricity savings of 58 TWh by 2030 but has been on hold since then.
