This is a rough estimate of the calendar for 2010 for the implementation of the EU Ecodesign of Energy Using Products Directive and related measures under the Energy Labelling Directive - i.e. which and when product requirements will be debated and set by law/voluntary agreement, and also when new requirements already voted on are actually coming into force (a full list up to 2017 can be found here). Please check this website regularly for more details, or call us on the numbers listed at the bottom of this page.

August 2010:

- 20 August 2010: ban of televisions less energy efficient than the 2007 average comes into force

 

September 2010:

- 1 Sept. 2010
: clear incandescent lamps of 75 W are banned

- expected vote on ecodesign rules for computers, monitors and digital frames (followed by 3 month scrutiny by European Parliament)

- expected vote on ecodesign rules for water pumps
 (followed by 3 month scrutiny by European Parliament)

- potential endorsement by the European Commission of voluntary initiatives for imaging equipment and "complex" set top boxes

- preparation of final draft ecodesign and energy labelling measures for room air-conditioners

 

October 2010:

- vote of the long awaited ecodesign rules for water heaters (followed by 3 month scrutiny by European Parliament)

-possible vote on room air conditioners and comfort fans (followed by 3 month scrutiny by European Parliament)


January 2011:
-Vote of the long awaited ecodesign rules for boilers (followed by 3-month scrutiny in European Parliament)
