Calendar
Forward calendar (for press contacts, please see bottom of page)
This is a rough estimate of the calendar for the implementation of the EU Ecodesign of Energy Related Products Directive and related measures under the Energy Labelling Directive - i.e. which and when main product requirements and labels will be debated and set by law or voluntary agreement.
A more detailed calendar with the status of all consultation processes and access to the official documents and NGO positions can be found on our expert web page. A list of the entry into force of the requirements already voted on can be found here. Please check this website regularly for updates, or call us on the numbers listed at the bottom of this page.
In terms of implementing measures, if current delays can be solved a long list of decisions and votes are expected in the first half of 2012:
(Last updated: Nov. 2011)
December 2011:
- potential publication in the Official Journal of the measures for domestic air-conditioners.
- vote on the measures for water pumps
- potential official endorsement of the two voluntary initiatives proposed by the industry in 2009 on complex set top boxes and imaging equipment.
- first consultations on coffee machines
First half of 2012:
- finalisation and vote on the measures for computers & monitors.
- finalisation and vote on the measures for domestic ventilation (potentially including kitchen hoods).
- first consultations on electric transformers
- consultations on commercial and professional refrigeration (January)
- finalisation of other pending measures, with votes expected on: tumble driers, vacuum cleaners, network standby.
- progress on the measure for reflector lamps & luminaires and revision of the energy labelling of lamps.
- finalisation of the (long-awaited) measures for boilers and water heaters.
Later in 2012:
- first consultations on sound & imaging equipment (game consoles, DVD players, projectors)
- first consultations on ovens and hobs.
- first consultations on solid fuel burners.
- full-revision of the Ecodesign measure for televisions (adopted in 2009).
In the meantime, on-going preparatory studies will be completed on local room heaters, machine tools, industrial furnaces, tertiary ventilation and air-conditioning. New preparatory studies will be launched on compressors, special motors and pumps for waste water, swimming pools and aquariums.
According to our information, limited amendments will also be proposed in 2012 on the already-adopted measures for electric motors and circulators.
